Given all the cherished memories, this has been an emotional process preparing to part with my childhood home. In addition to considering fixing it up myself (which I enjoy doing), I also reached out to a few "house flippers" to compare this alternative.  Bottom line is that Brian came back with not only a fair offer, but also handled himself with total professionalism and respect for our home and my memories.  He even shared samples of other homes he's refurbished (which are beautiful!) and offered to keep me in the loop as he brought my family home back to its full potential, ready for the next young family to enjoy.  The decision to go with Brian was easy.  In fact, I was so impressed, I even invited him to breakfast the morning after closing so I could meet him in person. We live 1,300 miles away though, and couldn’t drop everything to deal with repairs and sale.
